Science jobs from LSA System Development Unit, LSA System Development Group, Omics Science Center, Riken (Unit Leader: Jun KAWAI): job description
Area of Research
The Omics Science Center aims at constructing a methodical system that enables a rapid explication of molecular networks, the Life Science Accelerator (LSA).
A key part of the LSA System Development Unit is the commercial service group called the Genome Network Analysis Service (GeNAS). The GeNAS provides sequencing and data processing in the domains of genomics, epigenomics and transcriptomics using the Cap Analysis Gene Expression (CAGE) technology with the purpose to support life-science research, both inside and outside Japan. We treat customer requirements, provide consulting and propose experimental designs for applications using Next-Generation sequencers. The results are reported to our customers after sample preparation, sequencing and data processing, in a framework in which quality is the keyword.
We are standardizing the CAGE-based technologies developed by researchers at the Omics Science Center for large-scale applications, and support vendor sequencing protocols (genome resequencing,RNA-seq, ChIP-seq). We promote the usage of high-throughput next-generation sequencers by offering customized service and high-quality data to the scientific community in research, medicine as well as in industry).
Among other domains, we are currently developing support for personal genome studies and drug discovery.
The GeNAS team is offering the latest sequencing technologies as a service and keeps tight connection with the research world to guarantee that its customers (both in research and industry) can make the best of their data. [for more details, please refer to the OSC website :http://www.osc.riken.jp/english/]
